Veranda Forums Ground Rules

The Potomac Tavern allows members who are age 18 or over the option in  participating in adult forums. In these forums sexually explicit conversations are allowed. Such conversations are not appropriate for our regular genteel Tavern, and may take place only out in the Veranda. Only members of the Veranda can view and post messages to these forums.

Veranda members may have many motives:

• Some members are interested in academic discussions on human sexuality only.
• Others members may enjoy having a place where they can let their hair about their sexual experiences under the cloak of anonymity.
• Still other members (probably the majority) are actively looking for intimate friends, lovers or significant others.

Veranda members may be:

• Single
• Married
• Separated
• Divorced

Veranda members may be:

• Heterosexual
• Bisexual
• Homosexual
• Asexual
• Trangender

Veranda members may be:

• Monogamous
• Polyamorous (inclined toward loving, intimate relationships with more than one person at the same time)
• Swingers
• Virgins

Veranda members may have vanilla tastes in the bedroom or be into sexual variations that may surprise or disgust other members. Regardless, all members are expected to be tolerant of a fellow member's lifestyle. Remarks that are not respectful or in our opinion constitute harassment may lead to withdrawal of your privileges in Veranda forums, or termination of your membership in The Potomac Tavern.

This is a private area of The Potomac Tavern. Conversation on adult matters must take place wholly within these forums. Any discussion of information that is private or personal in nature that is disclosed in Veranda forums but that "leaks" out in general forums is cause for immediate termination of membership in The Potomac Tavern by the guilty parties.

Since many, if not most of our members live in the Washington metropolitan area, it might be possible to arrange for real life encounters with people you meet here. This is entirely up to you but please proceed with caution.

How to Access the Veranda Forums

First make sure all the following is true:

• You are 18 years of age or older
• You are already a member of the Potomac Tavern
• You are currently logged in

Now follow these steps:

1. Click on the Usergroups link near the top right corner of every page.
2. On the Non-member groups line, open the drop down list box and select Veranda Users.
3. Press the View Information button
4. Make sure you have carefully read the information above.
5. Press the "I have read and agree to the group rules" button

What happens next:

• An email is sent to the current group moderator
• When the moderator approves your request an email will be sent to the email address in your profile informing you that you can now access the group
• The next time you log into The Potomac Tavern you should be able to read and post messages in any of the Veranda forums.
